Upgrading your Magento website ensures you have the latest, most stable code for your website. That means more streamlined processes, stronger security, new or upgraded features, plus a better, faster, website over all.
Magento 1.3 was released in 2009 and is so outdated that it presents security risks for your website. It is highly recommended to upgrade your Magento site off of version 1.3 in order to avoid these risks. Many hosting companies are also phasing out support for the technology needed to run old Magento 1.3 websites which is another reason to upgrade.
Upgrading Magento can be a difficult process to try and do on your own, and is something that is best left to someone with experience and expertise. Below are our standard rates for Magento Upgrades.
Magento 1.4+ to 1.7 Upgrade: $999
Upgrading Magento version 1.4, 1.5, or 1.6 to version 1.7 is a fairly straightforward process, as themes and extensions are usually compatible between these versions. Your website will be downloaded to a development server, updated, and then re-installed to your live server after ensuring everything is working properly.
Magento 1.3 to 1.7 Upgrade: $1499*
Upgrading from Magento version 1.3 can be problematic because version 1.3 themes, extensions, and modifications are usually not compatible with version 1.7. Essentially, this means your theme needs to be re-coded to be compatible 1.7 and any extensions you have installed need to be checked for compatibility or an updated version. For extensions that are not compatible (the vast majority will not be), the version 1.7 extensions must be purchased/downloaded, or other solutions must researched and implemented. *Your upgrade includes re-installation of all compatible third party extensions. Premium extensions may need to be re-purchased. Additional charges will apply for debugging of any incompatible extensions.
